1996年获得博士学位后,她在纽约州立大学石溪分校从事博士后研究工作。2000年至2002年期间,她曾担任联合碳化物公司/陶氏化学公司的高级化学家,开发个人护理产品。她于2002年加入CSI担任副教授,并于2008年晋升为教授。
周教授目前的研究方向包括:•设计、合成和表征用于葡萄糖传感和自我调节胰岛素输送的新型葡萄糖敏感纳米颗粒和微凝胶•多功能纳米材料来自无机纳米颗粒与响应性聚合物的组合,用于传感、成像和生物医学应用中的药物输送•复合纳米材料来自富勒烯衍生物、表面活性剂的超分子组装•纳米颗粒、脂质、胶原蛋白和其他功能性两亲体的自组装/结合•利用光散射和x射线散射研究材料的纳米结构和形态
